Verstappen dominates Canadian GP to claim Red Bull's 100th victory
Perez scores additional point for fastest lap
Max Verstappen claimed his sixth victory from eight races in 2023 with a dominant display during Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix, leading home the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso and Ferrari's Carlos Sainz.
The Dutchman, who started from pole position, led every lap of the race after building an early advantage over Alonso. Alonso, who qualified second, stayed within DRS range of Verstappen for the opening laps but was unable to mount a sustained challenge, while Sainz dropped back to third after a slow start.
Sergio Perez, who started from sixth, made up ground to finish fourth, ahead of Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris. Perez also picked up an additional point for setting the fastest lap of the race.
Sebastian Vettel and Pierre Gasly rounded out the top eight, while Fernando Alonso's team-mate Lance Stroll and George Russell completed the top 10.
The victory was Red Bull's 100th in Formula 1 and also marked Verstappen's third win in Canada, moving him level with Ayrton Senna's tally of six wins.
